Hannah Weaver was born in Cornwall in 1868 and died around 1953.
She ran a private hospital known as Carn Brea at 19 Kirkham Hill Terrace in Maylands. (The name Carn Brea comes from Cornrwall, see https://www.cornwalls.co.uk/redruth/carn_brea.htm)
Mercia later assisted her mother in the running of the maternity home until she died in 1937. Hannah Weaver sold the Carn Brea property soon after Mercia Weaver’s death.

Maylands Historical and Peninsula Association acknowledges the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work, live, and learn. We acknowledge that we tell the stories of Noongar Country and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
