VH-UVK was a Lockheed DL-1A Vega Special.

Our Frank Colquhoun collection includes:

  • FC 298. B&W photograph. Aircraft VH-UVK. (Note in this photograph VH-UVK is still displaying carrying its 1934 London-Melbourne Centenary Air Race race number of 36.)
  • FC_313. B&W photograph. 1935. Pratt & Whitney Wasp engined Lockheed Vega VH-UVK. This aircraft, then owned by Captain H.C Miller of MacRobertson Miller Aviation Co at Maylands Airfield, had previously been owned by Commmander Glen Kidson, who used it to set London-Cairo and London-Capetown flight records. This image also appears on page 153 of Frank Colquhoun’s 2001 book Cockpit and Spanner.
