Judith grew up in Maylands living with her parents and two older brothers, firstly in Coode Street, near Kennedy Street, before the family built in 72 Ninth Avenue. Judith attended Maylands Primary School and Perth Girls High School and did office work until her marriage to Rod, who farmed at Jibberding via Wubin.
The many years in the country were very happy, raising two sons and a daughter and being involved in many community activities. Judith played tennis and golf, did paid and volunteer work at Wubin School, attended church and helped at the Dalwallinu Agricultural Show.
Other interests were Country Women’s Associations and Red Cross, both of which are continued in the city. Being part of Wubin Progress Association sparked an interest in history and museums. That interest continues and led to becoming a member of the Maylands Historical & Peninsula Association.
The Gustav Liebe story is entwined in the history of Wubin and Maylands. Although Judith and Rod live in Belmont, both have family connections to Maylands.
Judith served as a 2016/2017 MHPA Committee Member.

We acknowledge that we tell the stories of Noongar Country and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
