MAYLANDS HISTORICAL AND PENINSULA ASSOCIATION

John Hume Young served with the 51st Australian Infantry Battalion of the Australian Imperial Force in WWI. His service number was 2760 and he held the rank of Private.

He was killed in action in France on 28 January 1917 aged 41 and is buried in Guards Cemetery, Lesboeufs, Peronne, Picardie, France.

His name is located at panel 154 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.

‘Maylands, Perth, Western Australia, Australia’ was recorded as his ‘place of association’.
