MAYLANDS HISTORICAL AND PENINSULA ASSOCIATION

John Denney served with the 1st Australian Division Signals Company of the Australian Imperial Force in WWI. His service number was 142 and he held the rank of Sapper.

He was killed in action at Gallipoli on  27 April 1915 and is buried in Lone Pine Cemetery, Gallipoli Peninsula, Canakkale Province, Turkey.

His name is located at panel 25 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.

‘Maylands, Perth, Western Australia, Australia’ was recorded as his ‘place of association’.
