MAYLANDS HISTORICAL AND PENINSULA ASSOCIATION

Charlestone Harry Thorne served with the 4th Australian Machine Gun Battalion of the Australian Imperial Force in WWI. His service number was 395 and he held the rank of Private.

He was killed in action in France on 19 August 1918 aged 32 and is buried in Fouquescourt British Cemetery, Fouquescourt, Picardie, France.

His name is located at panel 176 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.
