MAYLANDS HISTORICAL AND PENINSULA ASSOCIATION

Charles Albert Payne served with the 32nd Australian Infantry Battalion of the Australian Imperial Force in WWI. His service number was 1348 and he held the rank of Corporal.

He was killed in action in France on  24 June 1918 aged 28 and is buried in Heath Cemetery, Picardie, France.

His name is located at panel 121 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.

‘Maylands, Perth, Western Australia, Australia’ was recorded as his ‘place of association’.
