Bath Street Jetty was an important riverside recreation site and contributed to Maylands life and leisure.

The Jetty was constructed in late 1890s and it was a popular bathing location in early 20th Century

  • Swimming races were held regularly there
  • Contributed to the suburb’s social life
  • Part of a wider drive for organised exercise and sport 
 

Bath Street Reserve today:

  • Is a quiet green space on river foreshore
  • Heritage memory of recreation and river transport
  • Symbolic link to Maylands’ past
